Bucharest is a big, contradictory capital where Belle Époque grandeur, communist blocks, and a roaring nightlife and tech scene sit side by side. Costs are low, internet is among the world's fastest, and a flat tax plus growing startups draw remote workers. It's chaotic, traffic is heavy, and stray-dog and infrastructure issues persist, so it's not for everyone. It rewards budget-conscious nomads and founders who want big-city energy and value over polish.
