Da Nang
Southeast Asia · Vietnam · Asia
Beach-city ease — surf at dawn, banh mi for lunch, riverside neon at night.
Da Nang is Vietnam's most livable coastal city: a long sandy beach, the Marble Mountains, and historic Hoi An just down the road, all at rock-bottom prices. It's cleaner and more spacious than Hanoi or Saigon, with a fast-growing nomad scene, great cheap food, and a relaxed beach-city rhythm. The tradeoffs are a rainy and occasionally typhoon-hit season, a language barrier, and a quieter nightlife than the big cities. Best for budget-minded remote workers and surfers who want beach living with real city amenities.

A growing nomad and expat community alongside friendly locals, centered on the beach and a busy cafe scene. Easy and affordable to meet people through co-workings and the surf crowd, with Hoi An's expat community nearby.
