Thessaloniki is Greece's underrated second city: a laid-back, food-obsessed port town with a great waterfront and a young, university-driven energy. It's noticeably cheaper than Athens, more walkable, and has a genuinely excellent eating and drinking culture. The downsides are limited job market, summer humidity, and the same Greek bureaucracy you'll find everywhere. It rewards people who want city life without big-city prices or stress.
